Dozing off and away

See who is really there before you ask for help.

Falling asleep#

A player who stops touching the keyboard and mouse goes through three stages: they start glancing around, then nod off with a small z over their head, and finally sleep on their feet, head down, with a zZ. The server decides how long that takes; the default is five minutes.

Any key or mouse movement wakes them, with a stretch.

Away#

A player who pauses the game gets the panel with a clock. A player who clicks out of the game window gets a clock over their head.

The tab list#

Sleepers get a zz where their connection bars would be. Typing, menus and away show there too.

Chat notices#

If the server turns idleChatNotice on, everyone reads "Kai dozed off." and "Kai is back." in chat. Each player can cause at most one pair every ten seconds.

On servers without Busy Bodies#

The mod still works a little: it watches who is standing still and marks them as nodding off and asleep after one, three and five minutes. That is a guess from movement, so a player who is chatting without moving can look asleep.
